Since 1989, the Kruger Foundation for Child Aid has been committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children in India. This commitment is reflected in the foundation's emblem, which depicts a lamp whose light is protected from the surrounding elements. It symbolizes the belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment in which to grow—protected from adversity and given the opportunity to develop into a healthy, responsible, and independent individual.
Over the years, the foundation's work has expanded beyond child welfare to support underserved communities through a broader range of humanitarian and development initiatives. Today, it works primarily in the villages and forest regions of Karnataka, India. Its initiatives encompass education, healthcare, sanitation, access to clean energy, and other programs that improve quality of life and create opportunities for long-term, sustainable development.
