Today, the world faces many challenges such as environmental damage and declining concern for others. Real change can happen only when individuals change from within. With this belief, the Foundation started this project to guide young boys and girls in the age group of 14–16 years. Students studying in 8th standard are selected from schools across Uttar Kannada District.
The focus is on building good values, positive behavior, self-awareness, and respect for others. The aim is to encourage inner growth and help students make responsible decisions.
Selected students attend special camps every three months. Experts from different fields conduct interactive and holistic training sessions. The project began in 2007–08. Four batches (each lasting three years) have already been completed. The fifth batch is currently undergoing regular orientation.
The Foundation has successfully solar-powered the entire Bondeli village in Joida. We have installed 40 solar panels and batteries (generating up to 10 KV) to provide metered electricity to 45 houses. This infrastructure supports LED illumination, home appliances, and a community mini-flour mill. The project is managed by a village committee and sustained through modest monthly contributions from the residents.
We continue to lead campaigns in rural areas focusing on critical issues such as the eradication of child labour, the reduction of plastic use, and the importance of hygiene and sanitation. These programs are executed in collaboration with students, faculty, and the general public.
The Foundation remains responsive to emergencies, providing over Rs. 80,000 in immediate aid (including medicines and survival kits) during the July 2021 floods in Ankola and Karwar. Additionally, we supported COVID-19 relief efforts by distributing 100 pulse oximeters to ASHA workers across the district.
Our annual District Level Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition and our Lecture Series provide a platform for rural youth to interact with eminent personalities, including global ambassadors and corporate leaders. These events are designed to foster leadership and raise awareness of socio-political issues.
